WVC blended learning courses offer participants an extended/enhanced experience. Through the use of online curriculum, the instructors are able to provide notes and other course materials in advance, allowing the attendee an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the content prior to arrival at the lab. Typically, online studies will begin 2-3 weeks prior to the hands-on experience and include a mixture of reading materials, group discussions, audio/video lecture, and assessments. It is WVC’s goal for this activity to allow for more time to be spent engaged in hands-on activity in the operating room.

On-Demand vs. Live
On-Demand events/sessions are the content items available online that can be accessed when required by the viewer or listener. Live events/sessions are content items that are being broadcast in real-time over the Internet. Often, a Digital Event is broadcast live at a designated time, then made available for later, on-demand viewing. This is similar to content available in the Learning Library.
